Peter is the founder and Principal Director of Burke Britton Financial Partners. After 17 years teaching, Peter made the transition to Financial Planning in 1996 as a Financial Planner for GIO. Following GIO’s takeover by AMP, Peter became an AMP Financial Planner and built a strong client base in the area, eventually being one of the first in Victoria to take up AMP’s offer to use this client base to establish his own business in 2001.
Peter is a Certified Financial Planner™ and member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA). With over 20 years of experience, Peter has an extensive background in a variety of financial strategies and is firmly committed to improving the quality of strategic advice in this industry.
Peter works with a diverse range of clients including high net worth individuals in need of complex financial strategies. He successfully heads the Self Managed Superannuation Fund department at BBFP, and enjoys the challenges this multifaceted area of planning provides. Peter is also a member of the Self Managed Super Fund Association (SMSF Association).
With strong links within the Geelong community, Peter is a keen advocate for the Kids Plus Foundation, a small but remarkable charity providing over 3000 hours of intensive therapy per year, at no cost to families, for babies and children with cerebral palsy and other brain injuries across Geelong and the Barwon Region of Victoria. March 2011 saw the start of a physical and mental challenge for both Peter and Jay Burke when they attempted the ‘Kokoda Track’ as a fundraising initiative to support this wonderful organisation. Together with 8 others and the AMP Foundation, the boys raised almost $40,000 for the Kids Plus Foundation.
Jay commenced his financial planning career with Burke Britton Financial Partners in 2002 after completing an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (FP). As a Director and one of our 3 Senior Financial Planners, Jay enjoys the dual responsibility of delivering the best possible outcomes for both the business and his clientele.
Jay aims to educate his clients and provide them with the knowledge to fulfil their financial aspirations. His areas of expertise include budgeting, superannuation planning, wealth accumulation strategies and wealth protection.
A committee member for the Geelong Young Professionals, Jay has fulfilled the role as MC since 2010. The GYP Network hosts a number of events each year to bring young professionals together from Geelong businesses to hear guest speakers with a difference and also provide opportunities for them to engage with others with similar interests and to develop additional business skills.
Jay has travelled extensively enjoying the musical and culinary diversity. Also married with four children, Jay thrives on the daily challenges of fatherhood.
David is a Certified Financial Planner and member of the Financial Planning Association and has been providing financial planning advice since 1989. David has continued Financial Planning on from his father (Bill), who started in the early 1960’s until his retirement in 1993.
David’s early days were built on providing advice on Family Protection and Savings (Insurance & Superannuation). Over time David continued to embrace the professionalism of the Financial Planning which saw him successfully complete his Diploma of Financial Planning in association with Deakin University in 2001.
David not only has a diverse range of older and younger clients, he also provides advice in broad range of areas including Risk Insurance, Superannuation, Self-Managed Super Funds, Retirement Strategies, Pre-Retirement Strategies (Transition to Retirement), Investment Strategies and Centrelink to name a few.
David regularly meets with his clients review their financial situation and goals, then setting more goals once the original goals have been successfully achieved. This is proof of his longevity in the financial planning industry and his passion to assist clients achieve their own financial freedom and security.
Outside working hours David enjoys watching sport and since watching his son play field hockey over the years he recently decided to play the game himself in the ‘Veterans’ age group. When time permits David enjoys having a game of golf with friends.
