PETER BURKE

Peter is the founder and Principal Director of Burke Britton Financial Partners. After 17 years teaching, Peter made the transition to Financial Planning in February 1996 as a Financial Planner for GIO. Following GIO’s takeover by AMP in 2000, Peter became an AMP Financial Planner and built a strong client base in the area, eventually being one of the first in Victoria to take up AMP’s offer to use this client base to establish his own business in 2001.

Peter is a Certified Financial Planner™ and member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA). With over 22 years of experience, Peter has an extensive background in a variety of financial strategies and is firmly committed to improving the quality of strategic advice in this industry.

Peter works with a diverse range of clients including those in need of complex financial strategies. He specializes in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds at BBFP, and enjoys the challenges this multifaceted area of planning provides. Peter is also a member of the Self Managed Super Fund Association (SMSF Association).

Peter was recently welcomed as the 9th of a small group of “Legends of the Bell Park Football Club”, in the Geelong Football League. Peter moved to Bell Park as a Senior Playing Coach at the end of 1982 and had the pleasure of coaching the clubs inaugural Senior Premiership in 1984. Peter has spent the years since in multiple roles including Senior Coach, General Committee, recruiting, tribunal advocate, Junior President and coaching the junior sides.

Living in Barwon Heads gives Peter great pleasure with the fantastic local facilities and natural wonders at the tips of his fingers. Peter never says no to a short, relaxing overseas holiday though, enjoying travelling in Asia and America!

Peter is enjoying winding back his career slowly – now taking on new clients via direct referrals and working Tuesday to Friday.

JAY BURKE

Jay commenced his financial planning career with Burke Britton Financial Partners in 2002 after completing a Bachelor of Health Science and Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (FP). He has subsequently completed CFP studies and is an accredited SMSF specialist.

As Managing Director and one of our 3 Senior Financial Planners, Jay enjoys the dual responsibility of delivering the best possible outcomes for both the business and his clients.

Jay aims to educate his clients on the link between financial and lifestyle planning and provide them with the knowledge and tools to fulfil their financial and lifestyle aspirations. His areas of expertise include budgeting and cash flow management, superannuation and retirement, wealth accumulation and wealth protection strategies.

Jay has travelled extensively, is heavily involved in his local community and is married with five children. Jay thrives on the blending the daily challenges of fatherhood, business, health and wellbeing.

BEN KEMP

Ben completed his studies at Deakin University in Geelong in 2014, with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance. Joining the Burke Britton team shortly after this Ben has since been using the time to gain a hands on experience while assisting his clients to achieve their lifestyle and financial goals. Ben has additionally completed his Diploma in Financial Planner and further to this his Certified Financial Planner designation, the highest industry designation to ethical and professional standards.

Outside of work hours he enjoys his sporting interests with the Barrabool Cricket Club and Bannockburn Football Club, as well as a social round of golf. Ben married Chloe in 2020, they have purchased their own home in Geelong and are now considered locals. Between work and sport, Ben enjoys escaping on holiday and spending time with his family and friends.

DELTA SMITH

Delta has more than a decade of experience in the financial planning profession (in various roles) and has recently attained her Authorised Representative status to provide advice. She has built strong relationships with many of the practices clients in her tenure and in particular those with SMSF’s.

She believes that all Australians can benefit from engaging with a planner and is excited to educate and assist her clients achieve their goals. Delta thrives on the opportunities to pro-actively work with her clients in planning their financial future.

Delta has completed her Diploma of Financial Planning and is currently undertaking her Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning.

Outside of work, Delta spends weekends in the local area with her husband and their three children.

AIMEE LUCAS

Aimee moved from Portland (South West Victoria) to Geelong around 10 years ago, following her older sister up here to the ‘big smoke.’

Since joining Burke Britton in 2011 Aimee has had a steep learning curve – beginning on reception, working as Personal Assistant to Jay Burke then into Practice Manager role. Often described as OCD in her organisational skills, Aimee loves to keep the team one step ahead. One of the parts she loves the most about her role is the client contact and being able to help improve their own personal situations.

Although it sounds pretty typical, Aimee loves cooking, eating out, spending time with family/friends and playing netball making for a very active social life. Her two nieces and three nephews are a constant source of laughter and pride for Aimee.

Aimee is constantly encouraging family and friends to meet with the planners at Burke Britton, having her own advice provided and updated regularly.

TERESA FRANGOS

I now have been with BBFP for 6 years, I think I have the best job as I get meet the clients as they come into the office and also speak with them on the phone, it’s great getting to know them all.

Of course, I also enjoy working with my work family who do all the hard work while I’m chatting at reception!!

I didn’t have an understanding about super before I came to work with Burke Britton and now fully appreciate how important it is and have encouraged all my friends and family to come into the office to speak with either Peter, Jay or Ben. My daughter and son-in-law are clients and are looking forward to a rich retirement!

My first job with GMHBA where I worked for 15 years before starting a family, most recent job before BBFP was with a Geelong architect firm which specialised in environmentally friendly designs.

I love to read, nothing better than a good book, cooking with a glass of wine close by, gardening and spending time with my family.

TOM TOTH

Tom grew up in Melbourne’s southeast and commenced his studies at Deakin University in Burwood Majoring in Finance & Financial Planning before moving down to Geelong in 2010 when he met and married Vanessa in 2013 – a Geelong local. 

Tom has worked within the finance industry for well over 10 years in various compacities learning and developing himself whilst completing his studies before deciding Financial Planning was where his passion lies.

Tom is excited to get involved within the Burke Britton community and to learn as much as possible from the BBFP team.

Outside of working Tom enjoys spending time with his family and 3 daughters which keep him busy. When Tom does have some spare time, he is a passionate sports fan and supports the Geelong Cats in the AFL.

Brooklyn Pullin

With over 15 years of extensive experience within the financial planning sector, Brooklyn brings a wealth of knowledge acquired through diverse roles at Burke Britton. Her expertise spans a range of responsibilities, showcasing a strong foundation in customer service.

As your primary contact for all matters related to your SMSF, Brooklyn is dedicated to addressing your inquiries, concerns, and any requests you may have. Cindy (Dee) Fuentes

Dee works as a Client Services Officer and prides herself on her steadfast and meticulous
approach to her job. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Financial Management before landing her current role in the financial planning industry.

Dee’s philosophy centers around the belief that “Everything happens for a reason.” This saying resonates deeply with her as it underscores the idea that every challenge, whether
positive or negative, contributes to personal growth and development. And working with the BBFP team has been a challenge and a learning ground for personal growth and character development.

Outside of work Dee finds solace and enjoyment in the realms of literature and gaming.
